Types of Hot Water Systems We Work With
We service all major hot water system types across Geelong. Our plumbers have experience with every brand and model on the market, including:
Electric Hot Water Systems
Electric systems suit many homes and provide reliable hot water at a reasonable upfront cost. Our team installs, repairs, and replaces electric units and checks vital components to maintain steady performance.
Solar Hot Water Systems
Solar systems can lower energy bills by using roof-mounted collectors with a booster system for cloudy days. Our plumbers troubleshoot performance issues, repairs failed components, and installs solar hot water systems matched to your household demand.
Gas Hot Water Systems
Available in instant and storage options, gas hot water systems are known for their strong recovery times and steady temperatures. We repair common faults, upgrade ageing units, and complete safe installations with proper testing.
Heat Pump Systems
Heat pump systems use ambient air to heat water and can run efficiently in the right setup. We install and service heat pump systems, check performance settings, and confirm the system suits your property layout and daily hot water usage.
Common Hot Water Problems We Fix
Not sure what’s wrong with your system? Here are some common issues our team solves every day.
- No Hot Water: A failed thermostat, blown heating element, tripped power supply, or gas supply fault can stop hot water completely.
- Water Temperature Issues: Water running too hot, too cold, or changing mid-shower usually points to thermostat faults, tempering valve problems, or poorly adjusted system settings.
- Leaking System: Leaks can develop in tanks, pressure relief valves, fittings, or connecting pipes. We locate the source and assess whether a repair will solve it or if the tank has reached the end of its lifespan.
- Strange Noises: Banging, popping, or gurgling sounds often signal sediment inside the tank or internal wear. We inspect the unit and carry out the right repair before minor damage turns into a bigger issue.

Hot Water System FAQs
How long does a hot water system last?
Most hot water systems last between 8 and 15 years, depending on the type of unit, water quality, usage levels, and maintenance. Regular servicing can extend lifespan, while signs like leaks, rust, or inconsistent temperatures may indicate it’s nearing replacement time.
Should I repair or replace my system?
If the fault involves a replaceable part and the tank remains in good condition, a repair usually makes sense. If the unit is older, leaking internally, or breaking down repeatedly, replacement can offer better reliability and long-term value.
How quickly can hot water be restored?
With our same-day hot water repair, we can usually have your water running again within hours of your call.
Do you offer same-day hot water repair?
Absolutely. We keep slots open every day to help customers with urgent repairs around Geelong. Our team aims to respond quickly and carry common components to resolve most issues in one visit.
What type of hot water system is best?
The best system depends on household size, energy source, budget, and space. A licensed plumber can assess your property and recommend the right fit.
